@genplant29 and @bratface Nice to see Gold Diggers of 1933 on both of your lists. I do love those Busby Berkeley musicals which seemed to be all over the place in 1933. Iād have to watch it and Footlight Parade back to back to choose between them. 42nd Street is great too, if a shade less so. Those sets and numbers are still dazzling today, especially the quite stunning (and very moving) My Forgotten Man.
"Remember My Forgotten Man" is an incredible and powerful performance segment, for sure. Its singer, Etta Moten, has a terrific solo also in Flying Down to Rio. (Flying Down to Rio is no big deal overall - the general story is quite lame - but for the music and dancing it's wonderful.)
By the way, some interesting trivia: Etta Moten lived all the way to 2004 - to age 102!
