I don't mean in terms of whether you thought it was a load of crap or not, more that this film put DC all in in terms of copying Marvel's "super buddies all together" ethos...
I think that probably worked well for Marvel but somehow I think DC's main characters were better served by the previous cinematic approach of existing in their own universes.
Having so many superheroes all fighting for screentime just makes the whole thing seem slightly less, erm, "super".

i think it's better than the rest despite being, as you say, a superheros-all-together movie...
It's one of the few superhero movies that feels like someone exercised some personal judgement and that it wasn't entirely made by committee... I go into it on the other thread in the board https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/209112-batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice/discuss/58cdb0d6c3a36850f301136d
But yeah, to your point, more is often less in the big movie world... with more superheroes, each feels less super... with more action sequences, the less tension gets built up... the more moody, dark and cynical these movies get, the less we feel that anything is at stake or being lost... the more of these comic-book/super movies there are, the less special it is and the more formulaic they become... the more self-referential/nerdy they become, the less entertaining it is to watch a single movie... etc...
More is less... maybe less would be more?

There were decades of "World's Finest" material published by DC. Perhaps out of all of that material some good storyline could have been sifted out and developed.

I agree, 1983 gave us the last truly great Superman film.

completely agree. snyder's perversion of superman's character is quite tragic imo.

I wish they'd just made The Dark Knight Returns as a live action movie instead, It was clearly an influence.

Have you seen those Superman movies in the 80's? They are trash.
I think when people talk about those movies they only recollect the nostalgia. Those films would not stand up today, even disregarding the effects.

Let's be blunt: The movie was garbage for brainless idiots and a mega-million-dollar rape of some previously venerable American institutions. Either of those alone is a reason it would have been better if this never existed. The number of characters really isn't relevant; if the movie had been competently made, if it had been any good at all, that wouldn't have mattered. It would be far better if neither this nor MAN OF STEEL had ever been made.

I wish this film was never made by Hack Synder or for that matter any film by Hack Snyder.

There is only one good Superman movie and it's Man of Steel.

I enjoyed both MoS and Dawn of Justice - but I do think it was a mistake to rush into the big shared event movies so quickly. WW was great, but Flash was killed by justice league, and everyone knew it was all over half way through Aquaman for quality will have dropped - to have built those characters BEFORE rushing into the team up or Vs movies would have been better IMO.
In terms of the nitpicks of DoJ I dont mind most of them, but they could have been fixed so easily!
Simple things and you can easily have them as "head canon" but would have been such easy fixes...
