He summons his old teacher and mentor, the now 73-year-old legend Folke Silvén from Lund in southern Sweden. How the teachers has got an increasingly untenable work situation is shown in a very direct way in "Vikarien".

Καρπός του έρωτας τους θα είναι ένα παιδί, αλλά η Μόνικα δε θα αντέξει τη συμβατική οικογενειακή ζωή, η ευδαιμονία του ζευγαριού χάνεται και μοιραία η Μόνικα θα εγκαταλείψει τον Χάρι.

While detained at airport customs for carrying pruning shears, she meets a young Yugoslav woman and goes with her to a Gypsy enclave where she's fought over, takes a lover, helps with the sordid entertainment at a bar, and returns home more dangerous than before. The film also tells parallel stories of Marilyn's daughter becoming a junior homemaker as the young immigrant practices her striptease.
