I'm a computer scientist and film lover from Switzerland. I was lurking around here for a while, but didn't do much until the Great IMDb Exodus. Now I hope that this will be the new place to ask that question about a forgotten Kazakh crime thriller from the 1970s, and actually find someone who knows.

I do have a particular weakness for everything "noir", from the classic films noir to everything urban, dark, seedy and melancholic of later eras. So, everything from The Maltese Falcon to Blade Runner to Outside Ozona to Silent Trigger. I love character dramas, melancholic teen flicks, crime thrillers, and messed-up movies, I am especially fond of the 80s and 90s and hidden B-movie nuggets. I don't generally enjoy horror, fantasy and science-fiction films, although there always are exceptions. And I can usually do with an action flick or comedy, preferably with friends and beer. Always on the lookout for something new and unexpected that surprises me in a good way.
