Discuss Mission: Impossible

About 5 minutes ago I was thinking "Maria, why isn't a thread about which version of Mission Impossible was better: The 1966 series or the 1988 reboot?"

So, I'm going to ask my fellow Honorary IMF Agents for your opinions on this subject. The rules are: there are no rules! (I've always wanted to write that ).

Lima-2, Jahyn1111, wonder2wonder, Klondike 6, and anyone else who reads this, inquiring minds (okay, maybe just me) want to know! Please share your thoughts about this!

@Jayhn1111 :🕵️ I'm hanging in there. I really appreciate everyone's concern. It's helping a lot. The happy (pain) pills help. The last time I saw my doctor he told me that there was a 60/40 chance that the surgical screws will take care of the fracture, but if I still have pain in a few months, I may have to get a partial hip replacement.

But whenever I start feeling sorry for myself, I think about all of the people around the world who have health problems but no insurance. For instance, I've been reading a lot about the situation in Venezuela. Those people there have literally nothing. Inflation has gone up to 1 million percent. So I shouldn't be complaining about anything.

60% chance ok that's good odds in your favor. Let us all keep our fingers crossed!

Thanks for the all of the words of encouragement. BTW. have I mentioned that I saw Fallout yet?

Yep and I will post my thoughts on it when I get to it probably towards the end of 2021 grinning

I'll be looking forward to it. Of course, by that time they'll have Mission Impossible: The Next Generation in the theaters.

Is that really the title of the next film? Oh and by the way I just watched The latest Avengers movie. What did you think about that movie?

No, I was just kidding about the Mission Impossible title. And as for the Avengers movie, I refuse to see any movie where Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Idris Elba's character get killed (by the way, what happened to Dr. Strange's fellow sorcerer Wong?)

It's a really good movie. They're going to bring them all back in the next movie otherwise that kills the franchise

They better or I'll bring the wrath of Robert Lansing down on them! BTW, do you ever watch James Bond fan films on YouTube? I saw one called Chrome yesterday that was really good!

I never really got into the Bond stuff. I didn't know they have fan films out there. I used to watch some of the star trek fan films, but as the years go by they get better because of technology

The re-boot started out with a bang, when they filmed re-writes of original scripts. But once they came up with new material in the second season, the series slowly deteriorated into the blather which killed it. Such a sad ending to a briliant series.

One of the things that bothered me was that no matter what nationality a lot of the characters were, they spoke with Australian accents. I do realize that the show was filmed there, but it bothered me. And the 2 part episode with Greg Morris was hard to watch. He looked so sick and frail, but it was nice to see him in an episode with his son.

Yeah I think that episode was kind of necessary to lend more credibility to this series

I read that Linda Day George appeared in an episode but I don't remember seeing that one. Has anyone else seen it?

Yeah I remember her in it. I remember jim kept calling her Lisa. I kept thinking why is he calling her Lisa??? Turns out her name is Lisa Casey which was news to me. Nobody called her that before. I guess because they already had a Casey earlier in the show's run they thought it might cause confusion?

The reason that Casey became Linda Day George's last name in that reboot episode was because the female agent's character in reboot season one episode was named Casey. They never realized they'd be using that name again, I imagine. Because when she joined the cast, Casey was definitely her first name. I don't know why they didn't give her a last name.
