Nope. I don't import anything, don't even have tools to do it. It's not from the API either, as there's no creation ability on the API. The only place to create data is the website.

My assumption would be that it is a script or bot of a sort that someone is running to create the episodes in bulk. Seems unlikely that a person is creating 1350 episodes in one day by hand.

I thought the same: 1350 on 1 day seems impossible for a human being; they would go crazy! As long as I remember, the first 50 had a title -> all the rest was blank. Anyway, it's really weird -> why would someone do that?!?

2.) I looked for episode images and found this page

1) Oh damn, we should no longer use the official JP overviews (maybe none is better than such long ones!!!) From what I see, it's all about the episode, not like technical specs.. so I have no way to short it down real good.

2) Yeah, it's a movie special. First released on TV it seems, as all physical release dates I found are after April 1st. But it should still be a movie entry, already added to the database.

3) The ones I spot, are all actually quite the same. I'd say, let's use the official website title (since we can copy it from there anyway. Sometimes instead of "written" text, they use imaged text, in those cases I can't copy the text and would just use the syoboi ones).

Some background info:

• Re:the-dot-thing. The ・is, in this case, most likely used because the words before/after are English. It helps people to understand the Kanji. It's also used for when crediting non-Japanese people for example (or non Japanese character names). Normal Japanese kanji names are written without any spaces or those middle dots, but western names are "Japanify'd", and then the first and last name are split with a・.
• Re:small bracketed text. I actually read somewhere ones that, in Japanese, bracketed text should be smaller because it's additional text. (at least that type of brackets, there's like a dozen more types!!!). But I guess that was a code/design website, so I don't know how much applies. But anyway, the actual text inside the brackets, albeit smaller-sized, looks identical to me.
• Re:the-exclamation-mark-thing. Japanese puncation characters (any Japanese character really), are all the same size, it's crazy. While our i and ! take up the same small space, the exclamation and question marks both take up as much size as an G/K/M et cetera. All those big letters. The syoboi title just replaced the！with the western !. When adding movies like that, I also always add the other version in alternative titles, but that's not possible for episodes (yet)
• Re:the-weird-thing-with-the-last-character-different in eps 132-134. I would use the official one, I think maybe they could be synonyms? Gotta say I have no idea.
• Re:the-other-weird-thing in eps 149. No idea why those characters are different. Wikitionary references them with See also, so I guess their meaning is very close. Let's use the official one again. Seems to have something to do with foreign text again.
• Re:the-other-bracket-thing at episode 172/173. I think the bracket one is either a subtitle, or different version or something. Can't be sure. Funny how the size it again smaller!! Comparison

• Re: the 二十/四 vs 20/4 thing. Use the original 二十!! It's the same as 20 and 四 means 4, but in Japanese counting characters. It's like the few Japanese I know 二 is two and 十 is ten, so two ten (20). Same goes for the nine of course, but I spotted that one later because it was in the middle and not at the beginning, haha!
• Re:the big no breaking space. It's used for like, new sentences, like a subtitle kinda. Let's use the official one and include itat 174, cause in English it would be something like "20 year blabla: whatever that other thing means"
• Re:tildes XL ～. In this case, they are used to indicate subtitles. (Fun fact: among other things, it's also used for cuteness (which is why you see my doing ~~~~ a lot, haha!)
• Re:り. It's a grammar thing. When in doubt: I use official :D

Okay, I removed all the long one's. I'm going to continue to add them initially, and when I lock the content, I unlock the description and delete the long overviews. This way, we can find the long text in the change history - if someone wants to make shorter versions of it in the future (very unlikely someone will do that, though).

GOD how come I didn't find that... THIS SUCK BAD . The entry we worked on didn't have the proper English title (Case Closed), the early one does, but no japanese original. UGH, at least it did have the Detective Conan one....

I think it's the dub entry. The release dates are also wrong. MAYBE if Travis can move all our work to the original entry... but otherwise I'd say let it slide, they are fairly close together. So I think both might be from the initial freebase import. One the dub, one the original?? Other older animes also have/had entries in the database with for example season name: "Series name (US)".

Last update regarding adding the Japanese data (years 2012-2018)

I finished with the Japanese data -> the last 7 years did contain lots of repeats, but only a few Specials. Which made it "easy" -> it's actually very exhausting. And, honestly, the worst thing is: While I was remembering times/events during those years, the image of this main character pops up all the time and he does not age! That's really unfair about real life!

How do we continue from here? What's the best strategy?

Anyway - a few things:

1.) In 2012, there's a weird anomalie regarding some official air dates. This show never airs double episodes on the same day, but in 2012, it happens twice! And after the double episode, there's a 1-week-gap within the order, which could mean that the official data is not entirely correct for these 2 instances. This is just my guess because of the dates, but I could be entirely wrong about it! The dates are:
