Nu Dorothy Zbornak is getrouwd en vertrokken, besluiten de drie overgebleven huisgenoten (Sophia Petrillo, Rose Nylund en Blanche Devereaux) te investeren in een hotel in Miami dat te koop staat. Het hotel heeft echter bijna geen personeel in een poging om meer winstgevend te lijken, waardoor slechts twee werknemers overblijven: Roland Wilson, de manager van het hotel, en Chuy Castillos, de chef-kok van het hotel. The Golden Palace begins where The Golden Girls had ended, in the quartet's now-sold Miami house. With Dorothy Zbornak having married and left in the previous series finale, the three remaining cast members (Dorothy's mother, Sophia Petrillo, Rose Nylund, and Blanche Devereaux) decide to invest in a Miami hotel that is up for sale. The hotel, however, is revealed to have been stripped of all of its personnel in an effort to appear more profitable, leaving only two employees: Roland Wilson, the hotel's manager, and Chuy Castillos, the hotel's chef. This requires the women to perform all the tasks of the hotel's staff.

„The Golden Palace“ ist eine amerikanische Sitcom, die ursprünglich vom 18. September 1992 bis zum 14. Mai 1993 auf CBS ausgestrahlt wurde. Die Show ist ein Spin-off der Sitcom „The Golden Girls“ und führt die Geschichte dieser Serie fort. CBS beendete die Abspaltung 1993 nach einer Staffel.
