Discuss Hawaii Five-O

This ep is about a search for Peking Man (Homo Erectus) fossils. This one has such a real-life basis it is admirable. There were really Peking Man fossils that disappeared after being shipped away on boat leaving in late 1941 (pretty much just as stated on the show here). There is neat plot twist in this ep and you will need to watch the ep again to get it. And re-watching is a pleasure. This ep threw me for a huge loop, however, when Danno turns out to know absolutely nothing about Peking Man and yet Steve does. Steve is a very, very intelligent character but Danno seemed one shred even more intelligent and, I would presume, more well-informed as well--but no.

PS it is now believed that Peking Man and other H. Erectus fossils are rather directly ancestral to some modern human beings. The reason is not DNA extraction from H. Erectus fossils. Unlike the case with Neanderthal fossils-- that has not been done yet. But southeast Asian people have a one percent genetic DNA no one else on Earth has and this is presumed to H. Erectus DNA.
