This is because of our search seeing those 4 digits and thinking it's the year. Ie. currently, our search is setup to use the last 4 digits of any search as a way to limit the year, like so:
http://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=star+wars+1977#0
There's an open ticket about this.
In the meantime, there isn't much you can do except search or "Mr. 3000 2004".
