Charles Boyer (Fijac, França, 28 d’agost de 1899 - Phoenix, Arizona, 26 d’agost de 1978) fou un actor cinematogràfic i teatral francès nacionalitzat estatunidenc. A partir del 1940 residí als EUA, on es convertí en l'actor francès més cotitzat pels estudis de Hollywood. Fou un gran especialista en la interpretació de personatges romàntics i apassionats.

Charles Boyer (28 August 1899 – 26 August 1978) was a French actor who appeared in more than 80 films between 1920 and 1976. After receiving an education in drama, Boyer started on the stage, but he found success in movies during the 1930s. His memorable performances were among the era's most highly praised romantic dramas, Algiers (1938) and Love Affair (1939). Another famous role was in the 1944 mystery-thriller Gaslight. He received four Academy Award nominations for Best Actor.

Charles Boyer, né le 28 août 1899 à Figeac (Lot) et mort le 26 août 1978 à Phoenix (Arizona), est un acteur franco-américain. Après avoir commencé sa carrière en France, il devient l'un des acteurs français les plus célèbres à Hollywood durant les années 1930 et 1940. Se montrant aussi à l'aise dans les mélodrames, Le Jardin d'Allah (1936), Casbah (1938) et Elle et lui (1939), que dans les thrillers, Hantise (1944), il est nommé à quatre reprises à l'oscar du meilleur acteur.

Шарль Буайе получил образование в Сорбонне и парижской Консерватории. С 20 лет играл в театрах Парижа, в этом же возрасте впервые снялся в кино. В 1930 переехал в Голливуд.

За свою карьеру снялся в таких фильмах как «Рыжеволосая женщина», «Караван», «Разбитое сердце», «Майерлинг», «Горит ли Париж?» и других.

Жизнь актёра сложилась тяжело. Его единственный сын, 21-летний Мишель, был влюблен в девушку, которая, возможно, была влюблена в другого юношу. Он приставил револьвер к виску, решив сыграть в «русскую рулетку», нажал на курок, и голову разнесло на 2 части. Жена умерла от рака. А сам Буайе покончил жизнь самоубийством, приняв большую дозу снотворного, через 2 дня после этого.
