Discuss Glenda Farrell

When I think of Miss Farrell, I think of spunky, feisty characters (news reporter, amateur detective, prison inmate, gangster moll, etc.) getting themselves into, or already being in, situations that they'd be better off not in, and with sassy "rat-a-tat-tat" rapid-fire, often smart-alecky, sometimes tough, line delivery. Miss Farrell was a true one-of-a-kind in particularly Pre-Code era films. Besides adding frequently comic (though also, simultaneously, whatever extent of dramatic) support to a great many films, she also starred in the popular Torchy Blane detective series (in which she was both amusing and dramatic) of '30s films.

It's by far mostly from Warner Brothers movies that I think of Miss Farrell, as she was such a heavily used contract player at that studio during the 1930s.
