I can get to his profile here: https://www.themoviedb.org/person/997-thierry-arbogast through google search, but not through the site search or drop-down functionality on the crew edit page.

It's because he is classified as an Adult Actor due to some of the entries he's added to being marked as adult on TMDB. Adult content is filtered out by default for users.
