How do you guys think this compares to the Korean original?

I think the original is far superior, but it was interesting to see an American remake that still works... i liked it

She's quality👍

Much preferred the original... I think I would have liked this one more if I had not seen the original.

Just finshed it on VUDU, although the original is where its at, this wasn't HORRIBLE. Cast was on point, film is pretty to look at and the basis of the story is still there, just felt RUSHED...I read Spike Lee's original cut is 2 hours & 20 mins and was chopped up by the studio, more character development & dialog which studio execs thought was "too boring" for general audiences...I wonder if we'll ever get to see that cut?

While I've never seen the remake of this Korean film, I gather that there is some motivation carried to make it more exclusive to Western audiences. A box? Boxing?

A completely pointless remake of the brilliant original film. What motivated Lee to do this escapes me. Perhaps he doesn't like to read subtitles. Or thought it would be lucrative to copy a great foreign film for an American audience. Whatever his reason(s), he only succeeded in making an embarrassing critical and commercial flop.

I dug the battle royal scene.
