After wrapping up the shoot of his upcoming period film, in which he also plays the lead character Mehboob, Indie film director-writer RK (Rajat Kapoor) struggles to piece his film together on the editing table. Trouble escalates when he discovers that his lead character has vanished from the film’s footage and entered real life.

영화감독 RK는 주연 마붑역을 자신이 직접 맡아 신작을 찍고 있다. 어느 날 편집실에서 긴급한 전화가 온다. 러쉬에도 네가에도 필름 속에 있어야 할 마붑이 사라져 버렸다는 것. RK는 영화 속 킬러에게서 도망치다가 현실세계로 빠져 나온 마붑을 발견하여 집으로 데리고 온다. 자신이 영화 속에서 빠져 나온 캐릭터인 줄 모르는 마붑은 보통사람처럼 행동한다. RK는 과연 마붑을 다시 돌려보내 영화를 완성할 수 있을까?
