Henry is een voormalige voetbalheld die in een weeshuis werkt. Er naar zijn zin heeft hij het niet, aangezien ze hem geen moment rust gunnen. Een poging van Karen, een collega van hem om de herrieschoppers te leren voetballen staat hem totaal niet aan. Ze besluiten de kinderen dan zelf maar te gaan trainen. Het team is niet erg succesvol. Ze hebben shirtjes, geen sponsors en winnen lukt ook al niet. Zelfs Henry krijgt medelijden met ze en het duurt niet lang voordat hij toch overstag gaat. Al gauw kan het Home team hun eerste doelpunt vieren, het lijkt wel het begin van vele successen te worden. Totdat het weeshuis afbrandt...

Henry Butler is a professional athlete with a little Pete Rose in him. His athletic interests go beyond the playing field and into the gambling dens. Convicted for his addiction, the soccer player is assigned to community service at a children's home as a condition of his parole. The home attempts to exploit his soccer skills by forming a team. Butler takes no interest, though, until the home burns down and the team begins playing for their homes instead of personal pride or a payoff.

Henry Butler, ein ehemaliger Fußballprofi, arbeitet in einem Kinderheim und trainiert dort eine Mannschaft. Eines Tages kommt es zu einer Katastrophe: Das Kinderheim brennt ab und die Kinder werden auf verschiedene andere Heime verteilt. Es gibt nur einen Weg, das abgebranntge Kinderheim wieder aufzubauen: Die Mannschaft muß bei einem Turnier den ersten Platz machen und damit das nötige Geld beschaffen.
