Overview |
Carlo Rutelli falls in love with the beautiful variety singer Yvonne la Nuit, but his father opposes the wedding. World War I breaks out and Carlo is killed while Yvonne has a son, but on orders from Carlo's father, she is told he is dead. Her career descends and only Nino, an art partner, remains close to her and helps her earn her living by singing in taverns. |

Carlo è un giovane ufficiale di cavalleria che s'innamora di Yvonne La Nuit, cantante acclamata che si esibisce al Trianon di Roma dove recita anche Nino, un fantasista suo grande amico. Film romantico, diretto con garbo, ricrea l'atmosfera di anni lontani. Totò, oltre che un grande comico, sa essere amaramente grottesco. Tenuto a briglia corta, si sfoga sul palcoscenico col numero irresistibile del “bel Ciccillo” che era stato un cavallo di battaglia del fantasista Gustavo De Marco (1883-1944), grande eccentrico del teatro napoletano.
