Royal Rumble 2016 was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE. It took place on January 24, 2016 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. It was the 29th event under the Royal Rumble chronology and the first WWE pay-per-view of 2016. This was the fifth Royal Rumble to be held in the state of Florida after the 1990, 1991, 1995 and 2006 editions. It was the second Royal Rumble in Orlando since 1990 and the first pay-per-view event at Amway Center since it opened in 2010.

Royal Rumble 2016 è stata la ventinovesima edizione dell'omonimo evento in pay-per-view prodotto annualmente dalla WWE. L'evento si è svolto il 24 gennaio 2016 all'Amway Center di Orlando (Florida). È stata la quinta Royal Rumble a svolgersi nello stato della Florida, nonché il primo pay-per-view a tenersi all'Amway Center.

L'incontro principale del pay-per-view vedrà Roman Reigns difendere il suo WWE World Heavyweight Championship nel Royal Rumble match: si tratterà della seconda volta, dopo l'edizione del 1992, in cui un titolo viene messo in palio nella rissa reale.

Questa edizione di Royal Rumble ha visto il debutto ufficiale in WWE di AJ Styles, noto per i suoi trascorsi nella Total Nonstop Action (TNA) tra il 2002 e il 2014 e nella New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) tra il 2014 e il 2016.
