I had high hopes going into this movie because of some buzz on reddit. But it played out in the most absolutely predictable way possible. There are three big "twists" and they were all so obvious that the movie became more of a tedious waiting game of "when the hell are they going to get that twist out of the way so we can have some story?" In the end there wasn't much of a story at all and the characters were too flat and cliched to really care about.

Maybe I've just seen too many movies and am jaded. Maybe my teenage self would have loved it. But 2019 me was left disappointed - the one part of the story that was an opportunity for something new and creepy was left completely un-explored, just generic bogeymen. Maybe they were saving it for a sequel? But I can't imagine them getting funding for a sequel after this snoozer.
