A few things that don't make sense to me

I must be missing something but at the end of I Know What You Did Last Summer at the climax when Julie and Ben Willis are on the boat he says 'make sure when you leave a man for dead make sure he's really dead, what does he mean? unless he mean't they threw David in the water when he was still alive but then again how would Ben Willis have known he was still alive at that point?, also in the sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer when Julie Carla Will and Tyrell are walking on the docks looking for boats Julie comes clean and says something like we ran over a man threw him in the water but he didn't die, again how did Julie know he came alive briefly in the water ? and how did Ben Willis get to the island so quickly after trying to run over Ray also Julie and friends travel to the Bahamas by plane & boat probably taking several hours and yet Ray was able to sail to the Bahamas from south port in a couple of hours?

Because he was watching and fished the body out. Benny was stalking him
Maybe Barry told them.
Ben and Ray had days after that to get the island. I think Will was the one murdering peoe until he arrived

If Ben watching them how would he know if David was still breathing when they threw him in the water as he wouldn't have been close enough to see him breathing even if he had binoculars
Barry didn't like Julie that much so I doubt he would have told her anything or even Ray for that matter as Barry's relationships with them was soured over the accident also Barry said they should never talk what happened that night ever again they even made a pact too take it to the grave
I don't think Will was doing any of the killings however it could be possible but why would Will do his dads dirty work?

Ben saw him grab the crown and when he fished it out saw he was still alive. That is what killed him.
Will was psycho like his dad and was helping him. The genes run in the family for it.
