It is grotesque. This reminds me, I need to sit down and actually watch the film from start to finish.

This movie was never one I loved as an 80s child...I've dismissed it all the time. Just rewatched it on EPIX and...still feel the same. Its got SO much going for it, an EPIC creature, a decent enough "revenge" story line, and Lance Henrickson as the dad....but its just...there. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Still, in keeping with the OP's subject...its a GREAT creature!
