Eager young actress Tom is thrilled when her new agent gets her a high-paying one day job ($10,000!) to impersonate a businesswoman at a cocktail party as she has to be elsewhere. The woman's husband will be present to guide her. This goes smoothly but the next day a car tries to run her down.
