And there's some romance mixed in. The story is simple but what really shocked me was the choice to use dubbed music from old Hollywood movies. The choice of tunes could have easily been handled by the actors (I mean, come on, it's Bernadette f'ing Peters) and would have been far more entertaining. Some decent dance routines by Martin and Peters but I think Chris Walken's number was superb.
There are dozens of memorable shots in film, the use of muted tones in the city was particularly impressive, while at other times extreme lighting is employed. Ross even pays homage to famous paintings by Edward Hopper and Reginald Marsh. 7/10
