I watch a lot of movies (disabled). I find MOST of the recent stuff very poorly written or very poorly made. I rate them as such. I also watch a lot of rerun movies. I collect sets of movies and will binge out whole sets. I converted my entire collection to electronic format years ago. Gave the DVDs and Blurays away to my kids. I now immediately convert every new title to mp4 and give it away. Flea markets and yard sales offer entire boxes of movies at decent prices and aside from a few I already have, I get a lot of interesting stuff...kinda like a grab bag. I also screen new movies by streaming them. There are many free streaming sites on the web. My collections are growing quickly. Lately when naming the files I add in the actors, a rating and a few descriptive words of what the movie is about. My personal genres are not common. I genre according to actual content, not the established genres. I've created many custon genres, including fighting, religious horror and antihero. I also sort movies by a few actors (films that are stand alone and not in sets) which I like. I also have theme folders fdor common movies to specific themes like Tarzan, HP Lovecraftian, Stephen King films, and MMA. I started collecting movies nearly 35 years ago. At one time, I had BetaMax, LaserDisc and VHS (all which I converted or replaced over the years). A friend of mine at a forum I attend recommended TMDb and I really like the look better than IMDb. However, TMDb is limited compared to IMDb. I really enjoy the Trivia and the Goofs listings and I use the Connections lists to build my sets. Perhaps those features are coming?
