Who's idea was it to kill off Nathan? Was it his idea cause he wanted to leave, or TPTB suddenly deciding they didn't want too many kids of Faison running around?

Was he Faison's kid? I know that Obrecht was his mother but I seem to recall that we never found out who is father was.

According to the GH wiki page, yes. It refers to Faisson more than once as Nathan's father.

Well she tried to make like Victor was his father at first, but she knew all along it was Faison. She knew he specifically wanted a son, so when she finally had Nathan she hid him somehow, I forget the particulars.
I found the whole thing strange and contradictory. Faison wanted a son, but treated the son he finally did have (Peter) badly, cause it was with his obsession's stand in (Anna's twin sister Alex) and not Anna himself? But the mother wouldn't have mattered in Nathan's case and Faison would have loved the boy while molding him in his own image hence Liesl hiding him....but Peter wound up in his image anyway thanks to the abuse. Round and round we go...
If they ever delved into this I might have missed it. It just felt odd this sudden storypoint of giving Faison kids (and by extension grandkids). He was a creepy spy who looked like a troll who was obsessed with Anna, how he became a husband ( Obrecht) AND raised a daughter (Brit) suddenly...but whatever.

She had her sister Madeline Reeves raise him. See the link above.

Being in all of those crappy movies has to be soul-crushing. Hopefully, he can find acting work that will be more meaningful for him.

Ryan Paevey was one of my favorites as Nathan and I really enjoyed his Hallmark movies. I hope he finds what he's looking for.
