Tomorrow, August 28, 2023, has listings for General Hospital in both Season 60 and 61. It can't be both. I am leaning toward it still being Season 60 until Episode 245. Another soap opera, Days of our Lives on Peacock (formerly on NBC), starts its new season tomorrow after having streamed 245 episodes.
I blame ABC for all the confusion on this because by all rights General Hospital should have started their 61st season on April 1st. They premiered on April 1st, 1963. ABC changed the season change date from the anniversary in April to September a few years back because they want all their shows to have a season change in September. Your competition (TVDB) still uses the anniversary date. I had a long email battle with ABC over this when they made the change but they stuck with it.

It is August 28, 2023 and ABC lists online that today's show is S60E241. In fact, the last date that they currently list in their schedule online is September 4th, 2023 and that is listed as S60E246. ABC Schedule So, based on ABC, the network that airs General Hospital, it is still Season 60 and any mention of Season 61 here should be removed until ABC confirms it on their schedule.

And finally, based on the schedule for the past two years, it appears that the new season, Season 61, will begin on the second Monday of September which would be September 11th, 2023.

Things can change. So, we will have to wait until these episodes are advertised to be sure.

I am extremely upset about this... Today, 10 episodes into what ABC declared was Season 61 they made a change. It is still Season 61 but now they are saying that Season 61 started on Sept. 5th instead of Sept. 11th. That makes Friday, Sept. 22nd's episode S61E14, not S61E10. And so you were right, Superboy97, things can change but I never expected it to happen so late in the game. I didn't expect that ABC would be the one to make the change. It is their show; how could they not know when their season changes or what episode they are showing? This is truly bizarre and I hate that I was a part of it here. I guess someone will have to fix the listing for the end of Season 60 and all of Season 61 to match the late changes that ABC made. I am so sorry and upset about this. I guess I should apologize but I don't feel like I did anything wrong. I can't believe that Disney/ABC did this.
