Discuss General Hospital

I'll let Jarrod post the Daily Spoilers for the week but these are random upcoming Spoilers for the month of July separate from those:

  • Spencer & Cameron's DNA test plan hits a huge snag. (It seemed stupid to begin with.)
  • Kevin takes a visitor to see Elizabeth (as I mentioned in another thread)
  • Carly avoids Sonny's help by refusing to tell him she lost her half of the MC.
  • Laura learns of a request by Valentin and becomes suspicious of him.
  • Laura warns Anna about Valentin but Anna defends him.
  • Trina faces the decision of revealing her alibi as being with Spencer in the park risking getting him in legal trouble for temporarily leaving prison
  • Elizabeth receives a medical diagnosis that explains everything she's done but not everyone agrees with it.

These spoilers seem interesting. I am glad Elizabeth will be getting more screen time in the coming weeks.

Do we know what Spinnelli's big secret is and when that might be revealed?

I am hoping for Scott-Liesl nuptials later this summer. But I have a feeling she might not fully be over Victor.

I think Austin will turn out to have an estranged wife that he failed to tell Maxie about. It would explain who met him in the woods recently. But since these storylines move so slowly, I wouldn't expect any of that to come out until the fall.

We all saw the alibi coming to the forefront months ago they make sl so predictable now

Nobody cares about that.

But the writers seem to care about giving Spinelli something to do...he has been appearing in more than his share of episodes. Of course, he's really just playing support to Cody who is the show's new flavor.

The writers have been shoving Spinelli down our throats for the past 15 years.

Yes and why?? He's soon to be 43. Mature the character or take Maxie and leave.

He obviously is the creator of Society Setups. The real question is why he needs to keep his involvement such a secret.

What gave you that impression? The look of disgust every time Victor flirts with her?

That was clearly a man. Maybe Austin has a secret husband?

It would certainly be a different storyline for Maxie if Austin was bisexual. But this show doesn't seem to give LGBTQ characters much screen time, with the exception of Brad whose material does not include giving him a love interest.

I agree that there doesn't seem to be any real reason for Spinelli to hide his involvement with Society Set-Ups, unless he created it as a way to get a date with Britt which just seems like an absurd idea.

If you watched law n order it doesn’t take this long to actually start a trial I mean in real time it’s been more then 3 months this trial should of started the month after

Especially on soaps.

We've seen trials start the next day on some of them in the past.

This one of Trina, the crime began before the previous actress left the show.

Also they spent a lot of time setting up the weekend getaway at the cabin. Esme was pushing for that in November, then it got put on the back burner when they had to write Steve Burton out and do all the stuff on Cassadine Island.

Then we saw Esme mentioning her idea of the getaway again in late December. And in early January. They didn't finally get to the cabin until late January. And then there was two weeks of episodes with them at the cabin.

It's a bit unreal that since November the writers have only been doing this one story with these characters at a very slow pace. It feels like they are stalling out Trina's court date, because they want time for Esme to learn she's pregnant...or some such thing where if Esme is about to be caught out, the Cassadines will find a way for her to evade justice, because she is going to have the next heir.

As for Trina, there is no suspense there. It's clear the writers do not want to make her pay for what Esme did and she will not end up being jailed.

As in "a waste of time" like most other SL's on the show.

If I was writing it, I would have Trina jailed for awhile. The main reason is because it would generate a lot of future story. We could see her getting a bit harder in jail, losing some of her sweetness and innocence...Portia visits her and realizes her baby girl is no longer the same and she holds Esme personally responsible. Of course Trina wouldn't have to languish in jail a long time, maybe about as long as Alexis did. So that when she gets out, she has a chip on her shoulder and is determined to bring Esme down once and for all. In the meantime, while Trina's away in jail, Esme has been living the good life and this just sticks in everyone's craw.

I would keep Spencer busy by having him marry Esme when she becomes pregnant, with no idea that Nikolas is really the father of the baby. All that can play out while Trina's in jail. Of course it would be Trina who somehow learns the truth about the baby's paternity which is part of what she'll use to get revenge on Esme later.

Later on Trina can go back to her old sweet self again...but she develops some grit and backbone through her long-term dealings with Esme. Anyway, that is how I'd write it. This storyline could easily go on another year or two, and it doesn't have to feel as slow and dragged out as it does now. It should be about Esme gaining power and getting away with stuff for a long time, then Esme finally getting her comeuppance because Trina ultimately beats her at her own game.

Two weeks? They were at the cabin for like two episodes!
