Yes, but I reacted like Scotty- what's the point? The truth came out, and it was all handled by the court. So is this just to embarrass her? Is he going to be connected to the case somehow and seeking revenge?

Don't get me wrong, though. From the Cyrus scenes I've watched, I've enjoyed him rattling cages and revealing hypocrisy. If that's all this ends up being, I'm ok with that.

Laura looked at it like a deer caught in the headlights and said no. Jordan had obviously read the file so if it was about Laura, she would have known. So it can't be the David Hamilton murder. And it can't be the Teresa Carter murder that was retconned several years ago. I know Laura told Scotty the report had been heavily redacted but it couldn't have been so heavily redacted that it wouldn't show the principle people's names.

Well, it would obviously have to say David Hamilton’s name to be found but all other names could be redacted.

The Carter case was so poorly done I hope it's not that. The Hamilton case was a turning pt for the Laure character so maybe they'll add an element not shown then.

How old was Laura when she killed David? Because if this is about that case, the only reason I can think of why the file might be heavily redacted and her name not in the file is because Laura was a minor...?? But I don't know how old her character was supposed to be then...

Another thing to ponder is that Laura called Scott after Jordan showed her the file. Scott was involved in the cover up in the Carter murder. So it would make sense that she would give Scott a heads up if Cyrus is sniffing around it. If the file was about David's murder, why would Laura call Scott?

See, that’s why I thought it originally was about Theresa. I guess there could technically be a missing person file about her.

Laura was dating Scott when she had an affair with David which was considered statutory rape so she must have been under 18 at the time. She confessed to murdering David and the charges against Lesley were dropped. Laura was sentenced to six months probation as David’s death was accidental and she was released into Lesley and Rick's custody.

I considered the Theresa Carter case, too, but Scotty said he had very little to do with the case. Could helping Rick bury a body be considered "very little" to do with it--- even if that detail never actually came up in the investigation? I should rewatch the scene, though.

Yeah, Hamilton was key in turning Laura from am ingenue to a leading lady. The Carter case was a terrible rewrite to make Rick a monster. They shd make Cyrus David's son out for revenge.
