Yes, it was pretty stupid (Maxie-like). However, Michael does have experience with babies, right? Avery was still a baby (right?) when he became her guardian. Today's episode was a colossal snoozefest except for baby James. He is so cute, especially when laughing. His normal look though is a WTF look, i.e., "WTF am I doing here??" WTF?? Is Maxie really my mother? I am so screwed."

michaels reaction like im not a doctor goes to the nurse the funny thing being a busy hospital she would of ran into a doctor or nurse on the way up from the parking garage but these writers dont do common sense

I usually don't notice soap babies one way or the other but yeah baby James is adorable!

You can't find a random nurse and ask for help, that isn't how it works, you need to wait your turn to see a doctor like everyone else. You know what would happen if you found a random nurse somewhere in the hospital and asked for help? The nurse would tell you 'go to the nurse's station and fill out your paperwork and wait your turn like everyone else' and then she would go back to doing whatever task she was working on before she was rudely interrupted.
