Are you saying that a 'Frenchman' (person) can't be black? Don't be so ignorant. The star (Omar Sy) happens to be a popular star in France, where he was born!

in all the "biblical" films, the character of Jesus, Arab Jew is blond with blue eyes, but obviously that does not bother anyone, so why can't an INSPIRED character by Arsene Lupin be black?

Clearly you didn't see the show. It explains in the story the young man is inspired by the Arsene Lupin character who was never clearly defined as white in the books anyway. And he's about as French as it can get. A very good show.

Lol! I would! Considering he didn't write them. Did Lupin suddenly become one of the Three Musketeers? The Lupin character was French for sure though. But in the books he was a mysterious figure always in disguise. No one knew what he really looked like. Some of the old movies and book art has him as a thin man wearing a tux and a monocle. But that's like the Sherlock Holmes hat that was never in the books. BTW, the character was created to fill the void left when ACD stopped writing Sherlock Holmes stories. Again, see the series. It's made clear he's not actually playing the old stuffy gentleman thief of the same name. Easy to whine and cry about wokeness when you don't know the character and haven't watched the show. Some folks spend all their free time whining like children when things are not white enough. And it's just plain sad.

BTW I'm going to block any of these white whiners that's why I'm not responding. See the series! Read the old books. They're a treat.

Are you an idiot? Omar Sy is currently one of the most popular french actors.

Considering his user name " MongoLloyd" is a play on Mongoloid, he is more than likely an 'edgy' half-wit. I'm more surprised that he was able to use that name and not be banned. Honestly, it's chosen to agitate, annoy and offend.

I had a similar thought about the name. "How in the hell does he get away with that?!"

EDIT: I looked up mongoloid online. The first definition had to do with a person of Asian ancestry, and the second definition, which is dated and offensive, is a person who has Down syndrome.....
