So we have David Tennant (lose the beard please) as an arrogant narcissistic GP (Tom) verging on psychopathy. His wife Kate - a successful teacher who puts up with his cheating - and their neighbours - Jessie and Steve (a policeman) a mixed race couple (is there any other kind in the pc world of today) who aren't married but who are trying for a baby. Jessie and Kate are teachers (well I say teachers - they teach kids how to daub paint on bits of paper) that live close to each other and I have never seen such a fake portrayal of friendly neighbours in my life - the women tell each other they love each other (not sexually) as friends - they go on outings together - so happy clappy it makes you sick. Then tragedy strikes - a fire in the doctors house which kills his family but not him. This is where the stupidity really begins. He is in debt - a LOT of debt - we are never told why - this is a successful GP with a wife who works. He sets up a plan to collect his mother's pension - that is not developed further. One of his little girls is seen running through the wood by a druggie the night of the fire - and being picked up and carried back - for no fathomable reason he says it was the GP. Maybe this was too allow Steve to beat him up because Jessie had told Steve that she had sex with Tom - again - for no real reason other than she was lonely and he was manipulative - she didn't think this until a friend of Kate's told her the same thing had happened to her with him. What is it with these women - have they never heard of another "n" word? ie "NO". Why does it always have to be the fault of the man with these female driven series? Why make women so weak - they are doing their gender no favours. Anyway - after the fire Tom is the sole survivor - I will not go into too much detail - but I will say that psychopathic narcissists like Tom would never do what we are expected to believe he did.
