Hello! AppleTV+ typically releases its content in the morning Irish time, which means the evening of the previous day in the United States, and this is a US TV show.

@Davidal Is there a chance might rethink this behavior? Apple advertises the air date in the US as January 17. It's extremely confusing that the TMDB API serves a different date, especially considering the fact that the date in the JSON comes without a timezone.
I don't think so (but I'm a just a mod/regular user so I recommend you ask this on the API Support / Website Support of this forum). Some networks usually do this, so since we should follow the original release and the content (Apple TV+ US) is available a day before the advertised, then we should do the same.

This behavior is in place since the start of Amazon Prime and AppleTV+.
This advertisement is not specific to the United States. All the release dates used by AppleTV+ are Irish dates and the dates listed on TMDB are always based on the dates in the origin country of the series or movie.

This is the same as for an emission on regular TV. We only give the date of the first broadcast in the origin country without other information.
Severance won't air until Midnight PST/3 AM EST on Jan 17 so the only place in the world viewing Severance on Jan 16 is Hawaii and Alaska? I don't understand how listing Jan 16 is valuable for all the users + APIs who rely on TMDB? Am I missing something?

Forbes is incorrect. S02E01 was released at 9:00 ET on Jan. 16 in the US. The Apple TV Twitter account even tweeted saying the episode was now available.

The data provided on that non official site are wrong. The content is normally available around 9PM the day before the one advertised by Apple.
