I haven't seen this show since the 1970s, but sometimes I still read the comics. 
"Sugar, Sugar".

I've always loved that song - and used to weekly watch The Archies!
Here's some info about the song "Sugar, Sugar". Turns out it was the #1 song in the US for four weeks in 1969, and ruled in the top position for eight weeks in the UK!
To this day, I still remember every single word of the lyrics.

Now the whole Archie's gang is back in the Riverdale series. And Sabrina TTW always comes around as well.
I remember reading a couple of books on Bubblegum music back in the early 2000s. I also might have a Bubblegum comp cd around somewhere around.

I've never watched The CW's Riverdale series, but understand it's quite dark.
Regarding the song "Sugar, Sugar", I remember it was in semi-recent years featured in a t.v. commercial for some sweet food - though I can't recall what, precisely, now. Perhaps for some "kids'" breakfast cereal?

Riverdale is very much a CW show with all the heavy teenage drama. Kind of cheesy dark if you ask me.
