Lauter Socken
Bob leitet zusammen mit seiner Mutter Dottie und seinen Geschwistern eine erfolgreiche Sockenfirma. Als er wegen eines Herzinfarktes ins Krankenhaus kommt und dort die nigerianische Krankenschwester Abishola kennenlernt, verliebt er sich Hals über Kopf in die alleinerziehende Mutter. Bob versucht, sie davon zu überzeugen, ihm eine Chance zu geben, was allerdings nicht ganz einfach ist, denn die beiden könnten unterschiedlicher nicht sein.

Der über beide Ohren verliebte Bob wartet darauf, dass seine Angebetete Abishola endlich den nächsten Schritt wagt. Allerdings hat Abishola die Rechnung ohne ihre Familie gemacht. Tante Olu und Onkel Tunde haben sich nämlich in den Kopf gesetzt, Bob auszuspionieren.

Bob hat es sich in den Kopf gesetzt, alles über die nigerianischen Bräuche zu erfahren, um nicht nur Abishola, sondern auch ihre misstrauische Familie zu beeindrucken. Derweil ist Abishola bedrückt, als böse Gerüchte über ihre Beziehung zu Bob die Runde machen.

Abishola hat sich von Bob getrennt. Tante Olu nutzt die Gunst der Stunde und fädelt eine Verabredung mit einem nigerianischen Apotheker ein. Der zu Tode betrübte Bob versucht indessen sein Glück beim Online-Dating.

Bobs Mutter Dottie ist nach ihrem Schlaganfall auf fremde Hilfe angewiesen. Kurzerhand stellt Bob Abishola ein, damit sie sich rund um die Uhr um Dottie kümmern kann. Die alte Dame kann jedoch nur schwer mit ihren Einschränkungen umgehen und lässt ihre schlechte Laune an Abishola aus.

Dottie muss nach ihrem Schlaganfall immer noch rund um die Uhr betreut werden. Als Abishola aufgrund anderer Verpflichtungen nur noch halbtags helfen kann, müssen sich Bob, Christina und Douglas zusammenraufen und sich gemeinsam um ihre Mutter kümmern. Das ist jedoch leichter gesagt als getan.

Der Apotheker Chukwuemeka macht Abishola den Hof und bittet um eine zweite Chance. Während sich Tante Olu darüber freut, dass ihre Nichte eine Verabredung hat, trifft sich Onkel Tunde heimlich mit Bob, um ihm zu sagen, dass er glaubt, Abishola sei mit ihm besser dran. Wird Bob um seine Herzensdame kämpfen oder kampflos den Rückzug antreten?

Abishola ist von Bobs Verhalten enttäuscht und verabredet sich deshalb erneut mit Chukwuemeka. Sie stellt aber schon bald fest, dass sie mit seiner egoistischen Art nicht klarkommt und lässt ihn, als Bob urplötzlich auftaucht, einfach stehen. Derweil kommt es zu einer Meinungsverschiedenheit zwischen Onkel Tudu und Tante Olu. Zum Erstaunen aller ist es Dottie, die die beiden Streithähne wieder versöhnt.
