"Liana and her father were captured by the Borg and assimilated. She became a Borg Queen."
That connection was considered by Akiva Goldsman, but he decided not to go there.

As I told my wife, a non-Trekker, the other night, this season of Picard is off-the-charts with series callbacks and memberberries to the degree it's enormously distracting. Instead of crafting a new tale that they can stand behind, they're throwing in almost every popular moment they can find from TNG, DS9, and even Trek IV. Shoe-horning an obscure ENT character in PICARD just to make another connection seems ridiculous.

I agree. The actress Annie Wersching who played Liana, is now the Borg Queen in "Star Trek: Picard". The showrunner has said that there is no connection, but who knows, with time travel added, anything is possible.

Everything official since the end of Enterprise back in 2005 has been Star Trek in name only, while the unofficial stuff like The Orville and Star Trek Continues were Star Trek in every way except the name
