I am beyond anger I just don't care anymore real Star Trek died the day they broadcast the last episode of ENT. Besides most of the articles and opinion pieces in the access media are just there to get a rise out of fans so they get some traction in the media and kid themselves that they somehow are "still relevant" so I am not even giving my time in reacting to that apart from that new Trek never would be trending anyway . Even the masses couldn't give a rat's ass about Star Trek and even the minority special interest group they are so desperately trying to pander to aren't even watching the abomination that is Kurtzman Trek .
And to illustrate how far beyond reality these idiots at Secret Hideout/Bad Reboot are they announced a fourth Star Trek movie without even actually negotiating with the actual cast members if they actually were available for a 4th J.J. Trek movie they only found out after an article reporting about the announcement. That sure made them look like idiots .
totally get it guys. Look I rewatched EVERY Star Trek show in the past two years and I can't stand Discovery due to the captain being smarter than EVERYONE despite doing things horribly early in the show. I mean now she's a brilliant scientist and politician despite not having any of those skills before. (but still watch it). But I do think there's things in Picard that are just great. And yeah, you're right that it does lift from Logan. Now I get why Stewart is playing the part like that. I will say that not all the other shows are great. ENT was just not that good, and strangely enough TNG and the TNG movies just don't hold up -- with the exception of Stewart and Data. It was surprising how incredible DS9 was and Voyager has been (still getting through it.)
That's not Picard he's an android! a facsimile! maybe the producers forgot this or are desperately trying to forget it (or trying to make us forget it) happened but it did happen and whoop tie fucking doo Borg?? AGAIN!!!! the Borg by now are the most overused Trek villains surpassing the Klingons. The Borg becoming members of Starfleet ???? those two have two totally opposite philosophies that's never gonna work .What are Starfleet and the Borg going to agree upon assimilation-quota's ????? Good luck with that. Also Picard's mum wasn't abducted by the Borg when Picard was a boy Picard has vivid memories of her at a very old age (see TNG season 1 episode 6 "Where No One Has Gone Before" he even calls her "maman").And another thing these talentless hacks probably forget that if they make The Borg Queen Picard's mum that Picard in that scenario would have committed incest with his own mother since it was heavily implied in First Contact that the relationship between her and Locutus was sexual.
And really the writers of this show are simpletons.Example ; to make an old Trek reference they now have a bar at number 10 Forward Street UUUUUUUuuuuuugh 🤮🤮🤮
Oh, and Picard did do a course correction for S2 to make it more like a Trek show. So clearly they listened to some of the criticism of S1
All I get from that is Kurtzman and the other hacks treating fans like idiots by repeating themselves.
Then...
STD season 1: a dark, depressing dystopia that's nothing like Star Trek
STD season 2: Hey, Star Trek fans! Look, it's the Enterprise (not even close), and the TOS uniforms (wrong design), and Captain Puke, Mr Spork and Number Two (oh dear god) are here too! Get ready for Burnham's mommy issues and a weird, mechanical suit!
Now...
STP season 1: a dark depressing dystopia that's nothing like Star Trek
STP season 2: HEY STAR TREK FANS! LOOK IT'S THE STARGAZER, AND Q, AND GUINAN ARE HERE TOO! GET READY FOR PICARD'S MOMMY ISSUES! DID WE MENTION THERE'S A WEIRD, MECHANICAL SUIT????????
yeah. They screwed up with the Android thing. He shouldn't be like he is now. I will say in my rewatch the Borg was already overused on ENT and Voyager well before Picard. I do like what they're doing with the Borg Queen. I do like the mention of Gal Ducat and them explaining the time travel adventures of TOS and how they needed Spock to do it back in the day.
Speaking of Whoop... didn't like in S2E1 when both Q and Whoopi had to explain why they were old looking. Some clunky writing there. I would have been fine if they just were old looking and not explained.
another question: Do you all watch Picard despite hating it or do you avoid all new Trek all together?
All of these new shows were given a fair chance.
I watched Discovery seasons 1 - 3, Picard season 1, Short Treks seasons 1 and 2, Lower Decks season 1.
Hated every, single second of every, single awfully written episode. Never could've imagined the people in charge being SO dumb, and THAT ignorant of the basic fundamentals of Star Trek.
Not to mention how creatively bankrupt they are, to the point of repeating themselves (see previous post), and resorting to stealing from others like Prometheus, Logan, ET, The Running Man, Pixar, and, lots and lots and lots of Star Wars.
lol. And BTW not trying to upset any fans, but Lower Decks S2 gets a lot more like a TNG and less of a sitcom. And, like The Orville (which I binged with Babylon 5 as part of my ST complete binge) still has plenty of jokes but so comfortable as just good ST shows. Someday Orville will come back. THAT's a show that should be on a streaming service.

Watched Season 1 because if I was going to give an honest opinion I had to it was horrible and had nothing to do with Jean Luc Picard that we all know, after that first season I will not watch it for the second season will just watch Red Letter Media explain the mess.
yeah. They screwed up with the Android thing. He shouldn't be like he is now.
Like the entirety of Kurtzman Trek, it made no sense.
How is it Picard who, for good reason, felt violated by the Borg long after Dr Crusher "de-assimilated" him, was perfectly fine being told he's now a copy of a dead man inside a fully artificial body? How is that not a huge shock? It wasn't even his decision.
Not to mention no upgrades like enhanced strength, or a long lifespan. It was completely pointless and arbitrary

@Nexus71 Thanks for the link. As usual, RLM reviews are hilarious.

God forbid a Star Trek fan would dare to express how they feel after seeing Kurtzman's vomit all over their beloved franchise

Not sure you do, as I'm not of fan of Kurtzman's subpar Logan (2017) rip-off Picardroid
Might wanna re-read that TMDB Mod Manual
.....at being a disgrace that's Star Trek in name only?
