and how are they different from any AI, like the Doctor?
How come Elnor could knock them out? Aren't they supposed to be as solid and strong as Data?

Would it be rude if I'd ask for a TL;DR ?

Just chalk it up to a plot hole. Soji and her twin were easily able to dispatch teams of highly-trained Romulan assassins, so why her pacific, toga-wearing brothers and sisters were so easily manhandled by Elnor is a mystery.

Plot hole indeed. I mean how can they possibly explain that in future seasons? They were programmed that way? Dumbed down?
It doesn't make any sense.

It means Too Long Didn't Read; or Too Lazy Didn't Read, meaning provide a shorter answer.

It was a simple question. I wasn't expecting someone to write a book to answer it. But thanks anyway.

In other words, you don't know. But I can't blame you, it was never explained and there were major inconsistencies, even if we assume that Soji is the most advanced model: What's her name.. could run fast, jump very high and easily beat a Romulan squad. Soji showed physical strength when she escaped that room Narek locked her in. Earlier androids like Data and Lore possessed great strength... and we're supposed to think that all the other synths are much weaker because.. ? plot hole?

Dahj and Soji are not synths they are cyborgs they have biological bodies with a positronic brain synths are entirely made of inorganic matter they are androids or robots just like Data.Synth is just short for synthetic or artificial. It really is that simple if the writers don't stick to that simple rule it's not my fault that they can't stick to the stuff they invented themselves.

Do you think that people will care, though? Most will again say, "Thank god it's more Star Trek!" What purpose would extending the stories of Soji or the synths serve in Season Two? Their arc has been resolved and the threat is neutered. Hell, the writers act like we all have such short attention spans we won't even remember S:1.
At best, since Soji is a synthetic human with additional abilities that are triggered when she's threatened, she can function as Picard's version of River Tam from Firefly. She'll spring into action with super-human powers whenever Elroy, er Legolas, er...ELNOR is busy. We're going to get more Rios holograms, a will-they-or-won't-they stormy romance between Raffi and Seven, and Jurati will cry about something. Oh, and Picard will be there when they need some exposition.
Frankly, I couldn't care less what happens to the rest of the synths; they were wooden, cardboard characters dressed like Hare Krishna acolytes. My bet is that the synths won't be explored any further, but S:2 will be all about a new threat from...wait for it...THE KLINGONS! We need more memberberries with Worf and Geordi.

Tbh, I don't know if I will. I think the producers and writers are neither capable nor willing to deliver good Trek. Looking at the outcome it seems they've different goals.
I'd like to see what Picard's additional capabilities will be, what he's capable of when he's activated.
Agreed. I just hope they don't turn Worf or Geordi into females or synths or both lol
Depicting female superiority is so much more important nowadays than delivering good Trek.

I doubt that it has anything to do with fake memories. It's just another subroutine or whatever that kicks in when the plot needs it.
Also, Soji and Picard aren't made out of flesh and blood, they're still androids.. unless you're capable of punching a hole into the floor with your bare hands.

It's not like a little girl can suddenly lift a car or anything like that. You still have to be pretty robust and strong to lift a car, even if you go 110%. But yes, there was a docu on NatGeo about people going 110%.
It was a wooden floor and looked pretty solid. She punched it and it broke. I doubt it was because she 'went 110%'. We're supposed to believe she has super-human capabilities. Just look at what Daj could do.
Yes, but different writers, different franchise. That doesn't count.
Nah, I don't even care anymore. Just watch the latest Midnight's Edge video, it speaks volumes :

Don't know anything about the dude, tbh, but I concur with most of what he says in this video. But I watch Robservations and Nerdrotic regularly, and I
totallyagree (edit:) most of the time with what they have to say about nu-trek.You somehow take everything that's thrown at you by the writers and producers of nu-trek and defend it to the end. That's exactly the opposite of what they do.
Defending that crap is beyond me. Why "Picard", btw? Why not a new show with Picard as a character in it? It seems to me, they got the job but don't know what to do with it. Stewart didn't know about the demise of Picard until shooting day. But whatever.
I really have a hard time finding things, scenes, etc. that I really like. Seeing Picard, Riker, Troi, etc. again was the best part I guess. Ah yes, the score is great! Really, it's great. One of the best scores in ST, right after Voyager's theme.
But I'm curious; do us a favor and criticize ST:Picard, would you?
I couldn't disagree more; first of all, of course, they want to make money, who doesn't? Second, I prefer listening to independent channels over biased channels/reviewers who aren't capable of (or allowed to) seeing and criticizing a product for what it is. Professional reviews? Professional journalists? There's no such thing. It may differ depending on who they work for, but they all have agendas. They have to if they want to receive future paychecks. "You don't shit where you eat."
Considering what's going on in the world, Star Trek was, how did Jonathan Frakes put it back in the day; "It's the universe everybody wants to live in". It was a great place to escape the real world. Optimistic, bright, etc. That was Roddenberry's "message" and everybody liked it.
Seeing what they did to Trek, no one should wonder why people, esp. older fans, start criticizing the producers and writers of this.. crap.
You love it, that's fine. But consider this; 10 years from now someone takes over your beloved franchise and turns it into crap, then we talk again lol.
Btw, the more I think about it; turning something as solid and consistent as ST (5 decades!) into crap is quite an accomplishment. They should receive a special achievement reward. lol I mean can't they do both? produce good Trek and fulfill their agenda, and everybody's happy? Unless their agenda is producing crap then .. I don't know.
