《從海底出擊》2018年影集版本啟發自德國導演沃夫岡彼得森（Wolfgang Petersen）的同名電影代表作和洛塔君特布赫海姆（Lothar-Günther Buchheim）的同名原著。故事背景始於二戰時間 1942 年的秋天，U型潛艇（U-boat）之戰越演越烈。當一名年輕船員出海進行一場危險巡邏時，法國抵抗運動正在拉羅歇爾（La Rochelle）的船港緩緩醞釀。

The events of the fourth season of "Das Boot" begin in the summer of 1943: Klaus Hoffmann is celebrated as a hero in Berlin, but at the same time he is shadowed. His sister Hannie, whose marriage only exists on paper, has found a new job. Meanwhile, the navy suffers heavy losses in the Mediterranean. The film was directed by Dennis Gansel (“The Wave”) and the main actors in the six new episodes include Rick Okon and Rosalie Thomass.
