a)Canceling a subscription and cancel culture are two entirely different things ,one is that you're not giving a company your money the company itself can still do whatever it pleases to do .Cancel culture is making it impossible for a person to work in the job they like to do ,making them social outcast or blacklist them just because their ideas or opinions don't align with those of a few extremist and fanatical SJW's on Twitter or other social media platforms.

b) oh I won't

If you look up the definition of "boycott", you'll see that that's what that is, and that it applies to organizations as well as individuals. "cancel culture" was just a fancy, shiny new name with some alliteration to give it catchy legs. Point is, you don't like something about something or someone else for whatever reason makes sense to you, so you stop engaging it/them commercially.

Again, I say, welcome.

I don't love Disney, I certainly don't go out of my way to watch whatever they produce just because they produced it; but they do own properties I enjoy watching, including The Mandalorian so, at this point, I won't be joining your boycott. And since this conversation wasn't about The Mandalorian specifically, those of us who will watch the new season won't miss the distraction of your complaints. Trusting you'll be off watching whatever Carla's got going on now in support of her.

Enjoy.

I would only add that cancel culture is specifically about targeting an individual while boycotting is about an entity/company. I can boycott a company but unless it's a small company its items will not be taken off of shelves nation-wide or access to its website/broadcasts will not be restricted, but if an individual is cancelled their entire brand is usually destroyed and they will be exiled from social media and mainstream work and usually have to seek work outside of the mainstream and sometimes that's not even possible.

But anyway, I'm here because I heard Mandalorian season 3 is sucking and that it's lost a huge chunk of its audience. And then I laughed hysterically. I'm sure this was not a direct result of Gina's firing, but a symptom of the show, Star Wars, and Disney in generally taking their paying customers for granted.

That's unfortunate. I was blown away by The Mandalorian - they captured the spirit of Star Wars OT as closely as I remember it (having watched all three in theatres), a refreshing change from the dumpster fire that was the PT and the train wreck that was the DT.

I haven't seen it yet, but I trust that those who loved the first two seasons did so for the same reasons I did, and thus, I'd likely be like-minded when it comes to season 3. I will still give it a shot, but if they did drop the ball...well, it would appear they caught lightning in a bottle and that's tough to duplicate. They set a standard, the maintenance of which may be unattainable.
