I understand what you are saying. He must justify his actions because its a means to an end or he thinks he can use his charm to get out of trouble ( I think that is a major complaint about Steve from Hawaii 5-0 as well).
I used to watch the original Magnum but I cant remember what his tactics were (poor memory).
