It's not technically a reboot of ReBoot, but more like a sequel of the original (Megabyte, Hexadecimal, even Bob and the others show up eventually though Enzo being version 01 is just weird considering he updated after season 1, and AndrAIa hiding is just wrong) with the next generation Guardians as teenage gamers uploaded into cyberspace. So much of it is very much like Power Rangers (meets Code Lyoko) except in CGI, which wouldn't be too bad. However, the CGI in this is very dated for this kind of show, just only slightly better than the original.

Well if you do remember from the season 3 finale of Reboot, Magabyte caused the Mainframe system to crash, forcing the User to restart the system. Since Matrix still had his icon in "Sprite Mode" while the system was rebooting, it didn't recognize him and as a result it restored a copy of his younger self. I'm guessing that since Matrix and AndrAIa are adults now and Bob is back to keep Mainframe protected, they didn't need to stay in Mainframe anymore and decided to venture out on their own. Maybe later on down the line, The Guardians will have to return to Mainframe and we'll get to see what happened to them, or they'll meet Matrix and AndrAIa fighting viruses in a part of Cyberspace
