Discuss Celebrity Big Brother

I watched the Fri. and Sun. night shows (after last week watching the season premiere, but then skipping the two subsequent episodes). Tamar sure is waaaay OTT with her dramatic tendencies. smirk

I was cracking up when she was doing the HOH competition and being all nervous-breakdowny about being afraid to jump/fall, despite that it was only a no more than perhaps 3 ft. drop to the padded floor. lol

Btw, this thread picks up from where the following thread leaves off: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/76912-celebrity-big-brother/discuss/5a9333e90e0a2616bd0262a5?page=2#last

So it was always like there were three separate groupings of we sibs - the two oldest, the two middle, and the two youngest.

Yep! It seems you have me beat.

In case everyone's not yet watched the finale show-

SPOILERS BELOW

Ricky thought he was being smart and was going to win by picking Tamar- he seriously thought everyone in the house hated her, he did not realize it was HIM they all really disliked. He played a part in helping (and at times the main role) to get rid of all the other guys in the house, He really pissed Tom and Kato off in the exercise room (and at other times), Lolo (who he pissed off for life by not picking her) and Natalie never really liked him (or anyone for that matter) and for some reason he seemed to not like Kandi.

I knew Tom would win AF.

Not a long time BB fan so I did not know this, from Twitter:

"A black female. Just beat a historical record. She didn’t win 7-0... oh no, baby she won 9-0. Three competition wins and a secret power she didn’t need to use. Tamar Braxton will go down in history as one of the best Big Brother winners ever. Period."

"survived the "first in" curse"

"Tamar gave us memes, drama, entertainment, comp wins, game play, broken curses, mended feuds and history made. IDK what else we could ask for from a #CBBUS2 houseguest."

I hope she keeps her promise to Kandi and she makes more of a sincere effort to get along with her sisters. I doubt either will happen.

It was impressive, Tamar's win, that she got EVERY houseguest's vote. Never in a million years did I foresee that happening, as she had such big clashes with certain people at times that I figured there'd be some lingering hard feelings that at least a person or two wouldn't be able to get past.

As you said, Ricky was totally unwise to pick Tamar to be Final 2 with, as he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. To be honest, he'd probably have gotten few or no votes even if seated next to just about anyone else, as not only was he always personality-free and overly quiet in the house, and didn't forge strong bonds, but, as you mentioned, he burned various bridges along the way.

I was thoroughly surprised that Tom got America's Fave Houseguest, as I personally don't at all understand or see where's there's anything, whatsoever, about him that viewers would like best out of everyone in the house. I was 100% certain that Tamar would easily win America's vote.

Does anyone know what, precisely, it was in Tamar and Kandi's past that they had bad blood about during recent years, prior to the show? It was good to see them mend fences, and now seeming to be on good terms.

Fashion note: I thought Dina's dress was beautiful and looked great on her.

That's exactly what Ricky figured too- that is why he picked her. I think the way Ricky went off on Tom and Kato in the exercise room- they never forgave him, but they just overlooked Tamar's rants/outbursts eventually thinking they were funny. Like Jonathan said-she made him laugh, and as we know she can be hilarious. I think the men just thought Tamar was just a loudmouth. Plus all the guys knew that Ricky was always working with the women and not them from the jump. I saw a clip a while back on YouTube where Kandi was telling Ricky about his temper and he should be calm , leading me to believe Ricky lost his temper/ argued with people more than we knew and it was never shown on the show. Did you see that exercise room argument I mentioned? Ricky totally went off-all over an exercise mat.

As you said, Ricky was totally unwise to pick Tamar to be Final 2 with, as he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. As I stated above- I think that personality-free and overly quietness in the house was different during live feeds or scenes that didn't make it on the show. I believe If Ricky had been seated next to anyone else, he still would have lost and by that same landslide.

From what I had been reading on Twitter and YT, I knew Tom would get AFH and Tamar is not liked at all by a huge portion of America.

Does anyone know what, precisely, it was in Tamar and Kandi's past that they had bad blood about during recent years, prior to the show?

No idea, but I bet Google would tell it.

It was good to see them mend fences, and now seeming to be on good terms. Yes it was good but... not going to last, I've seen Tamar do that with her sisters and turn right around and start more drama.

Fashion note: I thought Dina's dress was beautiful and looked great on her.

I liked it too and yes she did look nice, did you know about this?:

https://pagesix.com/2019/02/08/dina-lohan-has-a-boyfriend-of-5-years-who-shes-never-met/

I didn't realize that Tom is so especially well liked by the show's viewers; I was of the belief that he (and Ricky) was most people's least fave. Meanwhile, keep in mind that America the other week voted for Tamar to get the Power of the Publicist secret power, which suggests that, at least at the time, she had highest viewer popularity.

I saw, about a week ago, on one of the CBS episodes, when Dina had the conversation about her longtime phantom boyfriend. You'd think that a celebrity would be thoroughly suspicious of, and unwilling to take chances with, people they don't know, who they have never met in person. Especially considering that not only is Dina herself famous, but she's got a very (mostly past-tense) famous child. If I were a celebrity, I for sure would always be suspicious of potential catfish, and afraid and unwilling to forge a close connection with anyone I haven't met face to face.

Regarding Tamar and Kandi's past bad blood, I've found the following that provides some details: https://www.distractify.com/entertainment/2019/01/23/DJv2RaEYr/tamar-braxton-kandi-burruss-beef-big-brother

It was a majority of Black America on Twitter voted for her - make no mistake, they did that:

Having seen Tamar's drama and attitude with her sisters, I don't even want to know what their past bad blood was about.

  • edited to say- Twitter comments are now bashing Lindsay Lohan for bashing Tamar for winning.

Tamar was definitely my favourite, and actually was specifically why I wound up watching the season. I should add that, to the best of my knowledge, I never heard of her before CBB. During the season, I enjoyed her for the entertainment quotient.

I had no favorites and at the same time no one I seriously disliked.

It was for the most part entertaining due to Tamar (and Lolo) antics.

I came to like Lolo as the season developed, though didn't care for her at first, as she seemed so tough, hard, and angry. After getting to know and understand her better though, she gradually came to seem okay. I'd not want to get on her bad side though. lol

Tamar was on tour with Kandi's group, Xscape. While Tamar was on stage singing, she heard Xscape making noise. Somehow, she felt as if Xscape aka Kandi were trying to undermine her. This tour was all happening during her divorce, and Tamar felt as if Kandi/Xscape were not being sensitive to her. Tamar, the drama queen.

Girl, get yourself to the Project Runway Allstars thread.

I would think Black Twitter would have cast their votes for Kandi, because Tamar can be polarizing, as well as Lolo.

America's Favorite is always a total WTF to me. Although, I liked Tom, I don't see how he could have won over: Ryan, Tamar, or Kandi.

Supposedly, he's not a catfish, but he's something else....

Something else

On BT (and YouTube) Tamar has way more fans than Kandi, many probably were preexisting fans of hers from her music , talk and reality shows.

Yeah, it's mystifying. Tom actually was (along with Ricky and Joey) my least fave of the houseguests.
