It's Ok. Not amazing. There's the ridiculously oversexed macho young gun that makes Chicago Fire's Casey look like a celibate priest. There's the generic hard ass captain, Angela Basset not being given that much to do, but Connie Britton seems mostly cool, when she's not fawning over the oversexed guy that's too young for her. It's watchable but I'm on the verge of going back to SEAL Team. The split in focus means no deep investigations or medical emergencies that require follow up etc. And why on Earth don't these fire departments have those giant inflatable bounce abouts to catch people from high rises?

First episode was watchable, but the second...oh boy did it suck. All episode - talk talk talk. And when finally a window cleaning guy is about to fall off a building- they suddenly cut off to a locker room heart-to-heart talk about how they faced amotional problems while saving him. Why not just SHOW saving him?... And then not one, but two therapy sessions followed! Dreadful show, I'm done watching.

Don't waste your time with this trash show. Too much melodramatic crap instead of thrilling first responder action. Connie Britton acting like a love-sick school girl was the first strike. Therapy sessions was strike two. When the firefighter had sex with his therapist I shut it off for good. This is the stuff of soap operas. Not a prime time program.

I just watched this show for the first time (the plane crash episode-Worst Day Ever) I think it's watchable so far. Does anyone know if they have revealed what happened to Peter Krause's family?

The show is about the first responders, not the actual emergencies. It's in the show's description. It's to show how they deal with their jobs, how to cope with trauma, death, grief and somehow be able to disconnect and step into their personal life. The calls we get to see are from their personal point of view and always affects someone in some way. That's the whole point.

Well, that was sad and ironic! I would be tortured too!

Yeah yeah yeah, it's a TV show, but COME ON! Suspending disbelief doesn't also mean dispensing with all common sense. This show is reaching comedic levels with it's absurdity.

1) Our firehouse captain - Bobby - who in his previous job was a prescription drug addict who actually caused an inferno that killed his own family, and countless others. Bet that irony looks real good on a resume for a FIREFIGHTER.

2) Han getting a rebar through his skull and brain, and SURVIVING. Okay - so he survived. I can accept that. Modern miracles have happened before. But to be able to pass a Firefighter's physical and return to work - with ZERO issues - after only a few weeks? Not to mention he's managed to regrow all his hair, and his scar is less noticeable than Buck's birthmark on his face.

3) Oh yeah - then there's Buck - who in the last episode needed to have Abby give him a tracheotomy after the bread course at their Valentine's Day dinner.

4) Then there's our cop we follow - Angela Bassett, who so far has found out her husband of over 15+ years is gay, her daughter tried to commit suicide, and she roughed up and ILLEGALLY arrested her daughter's female bully friend.

5) Let's not forget Abby - the 40-something dispatcher who also has psychic powers. Take into account the airplane pilot who's girlfriend passed out and was having an apparent heart attack. Abby the Clairvoyant somehow knows who this woman's Dr is, calls them, and saves the day just as our firefighters/paramedics (who seemed to be right at the golf course as the plane landed on the fairway) were about to severely damage her heart with the wrong medication. Too bad her clairvoyant skills didn't work as well when her Alzheimer's inflicted Mom was lost and roaming around the city. Lucky for her that Mom stumbled onto a nice street gang that saved the day and gallantly brought her to the hospital.

This show is drama overdose. The sanest character is our token lesbian Henrietta - who oh by the way has a felonious ex-lover in prison she's vouching for, and who we just KNOW is going to be victimized when that ex-con from Orange is the New Black get released and will inevitably come calling.

Seriously - this show makes the old 1970's "EMERGENCY!" show look like a documentary.

It's hard to make drama this funny - but 9-1-1 is up to the challenge.

I'm behind on a few episodes. Is the cougar 911 dispatcher back for good? uughhh As far fetched as this show is I think 911 Lone Star is even worse!

Then they should call it “the drama behind 911” or something of the sort. Calling it 911 makes it seem like it’s going to be about 911 calls, not all the BS LA drama behind the scenes.

I watched this, and absolutely laughed!!! It is horrendous. I really tried cause I got through about 5 episodes. Why is this still on? And to have a spin-off to boot. Which is just as horrible! (These are just my opinion).
