Bean, Elfo en Luci komen vast te zitten in een onderaardse wereld vol enge wezentjes, waar koningin Dagmar heerst. Zøg probeert een complot tegen hem te verhinderen.

Zøg probeert uit een hachelijke situatie te komen. Derek vindt een boek en leest dat zijn familie vervloekt zou zijn. Bean bedenkt een plan om uit Trøgstad te ontsnappen.

Zøg gedraagt zich vreemd en Bean wil weten waarom. Ondertussen komt een wanhopige Derek een paar opvallende raadgevers tegen in het betoverde bos.

Bean vlucht weg nu ze meer over de intenties van Alva weet. Terwijl zijn gloeilamprobots haar door Streamland achtervolgen, probeert ze Elfo te vinden.

Op de stoomboot terug naar Dreamland belandt de diepbedroefde Elfo in een ongebruikelijke relatie. Bean kan het goed vinden met de zeemeermin Mora.

Bean hoort toevallig dat Odval en de raad een complot smeden tegen Zøg. Samen met Oona probeert ze het plan te dwarsbomen, terwijl Elfo en Luci een leger oprichten.

Bean probeert iets te doen aan de vloek waardoor prins Merkimer in een varken is veranderd. Ook vraagt hij zijn ouders om middelen waarmee hij Steamland kan beschermen.

Een mysterieuze, groene rookwolk nadert Dreamland en Zøg is nog labieler dan normaal, maar Bean ontdekt een unieke manier om met hem te communiceren.

Bean staat onder hoogspanning! Eerst ontmoet hij een oude vijand, die nu opeens berouw lijkt te hebben. Dan vallen er ogers binnen die niet willen vertrekken zonder Elfo.

In hell, Bean resists Dagmar's attempts to force her to marry Satan. Meanwhile, Luci plots to flee heaven and Elfo tries to escape from the ogres.

Bean, Jerry and Luci commandeer an airship from Alva. Held captive by the ogres, Elfo discovers an entire family history he knew nothing about.
