Just as bad as the book was, but watchable for one important reason: Tom Burke. The guy's a seriously impressive actor. He stands out within seconds of the show beginning, and he's almost exactly how I had imagined Strike to be when I read the book. Other than him, the script is ropey at best and feels very rushed, and the depiction of London is practically a parody.

Better than i expected :) The horrible poster threw me off. I haven't read the books, but the show I like (now when it's on its second story). I think it grew on me by episode 3. Burke is great but so does Grainger, surprisingly. The stories are not the most clever ones, but the two main characters and good acting is enough for me to keep watching. btw, been in London last month, in what way does it a parody? (not disagreeing, just honestly curious to hear about the city portrait from someone who knows it well)

I like it a lot, but then again I'm a sucker for anything coming out of Britain and Ireland. I've been to London a few times and from what I've seen so far in Strike, they keep to the outer parts of town so I would also like to know what they're doing wrong in their depiction.
