개요

그야말로 제대로 된 리부트가 무엇인지 알려주는 표본 그 자체인 애니메이션. 원작 시리즈의 캐릭터들을 통해 많은 오마주를 하여 구작 팬들의 기대를 충족시켜준 것과 동시에 그 캐릭터들을 성격을 약간 비틀어 더 매력적이게 만들거나 원작 코믹스의 설정을 따와서 다양한 떡밥들을 새로 내세우는 등, 구작과는 다른 방향성을 보여주어 추억팔이 정도가 아니라 완전히 자체적인 스토리를 이끌어냈다는 점에서 상당히 호평받는다. 이는 이 시리즈에 참여한 제작진들이 원작 시리즈를 보고 자랐던 이들이기에 가능했던 것으로 보이며, 어찌 보면 덕업일치를 이뤄냈다고 말하여도 과언이 아니다. 때문에 북미 팬들 사이에선 "리부트는 다 망한다"는 공식을 깬 작품으로도 명성이 자자하며, 시즌 3만에 끝났다는 점이 아쉽다는 의견이 많다.
