I missed the many promos for this series, but in the past I have felt that exact same way about other shows that get promoted every 2 minutes and rammed down the viewer's throat.

I watched the premiere "The Alienist" and thought it was interesting, worth continued viewing - I must say it reminded me of another series that aired last year? on TNT (or TBS- same thing really) also about a Jack The Ripper- like killer that also starred 2 men (one a Dr.) and a woman police officer.

It wouldn't be so bad if they had several different edits of the promo, but they run the exact same one every commercial beak. Drives me nuts. I can't hit mute fast enough.

Not only were the promos too frequent but they gave the entirely wrong impression of the type of show. Only when I read a review last week did I realize that it might be something to watch. It's actually quite good.

No, thank you but that wasn't it. From the link you posted, White Chapel aired on BBC from 2009-2013 and starred 3 men. The show I am speaking of was either on TNT or TBS ( and not that long ago) and starred 2 men and a woman police officer who always caught he ll from her male counterparts-just as Dakota's character does in The Alienist.
