Leroy y Max se llevan a Jermaine a pedir dulces, aunque Jermaine espera que lo lleven a una fiesta. La fiesta se convierte en la menor de sus preocupaciones cuando Jermaine acaba infectado por un virus zombie transmitido por un gato demonio. Mientras, Halloween resulta ser una noche ocupada para LaFrey, Annie y Barry en la Agencia Encubierta.

Animado por Max, Leroy comprueba sus posibilidades con una poli, mientras trabajan en un centro turístico local. Mientras la pareja busca al culpable detrás de una serie de asesinatos, el Capitán Lafrey pide a Annie y Barry que vigilen a su hija, que puede estar escabulléndose a sus espaldas con un chico.

El jefe de LaFrey, el director Romslo, bloquea toda la oficina cuando una criatura anfibia mortal escapa, dando a Max y Leroy solo media hora para eliminar la amenaza. La primera víctima de la criatura es el compañero de trabajo favorito de todos, Bob. El chico del agua también está encerrado en el edificio con ellos, aunque ellos no lo saben. En medio del caos, Leroy comienza a sospechar que Annie está enamorada de Max.

Cuando Max y Leroy investigan un extraño incidente en un club de campo de élite, ambos se toman demasiado en serio su tapadera y acaban peleando. Además, Annie los acompaña en la misión, ya que frecuentaba muchos clubs de campo en su juventud.

Cuando un par de actores engreídos, Chaz y Jared, del programa de cazafantasmas "Ghost Studz", tropiezan accidentalmente con una verdadera actividad paranormal, Max y Leroy deben ir de incógnito al set de rodaje en un hospital mental abandonado para salvarlos. When new cases become few and far between at the Bureau, Max obsesses over his multiverse theory and Leroy grows restless - until they discover a suspicious wire in the office that they think might be a secret surveillance system. They enlist the whole team to help uncover its source. Meanwhile, a customer arrives at the Bureau's facade looking to purchase wire coat hangers and everyone must take turns distracting him from the chaos below.

Everyone, including Captain LaFrey, is surprised and alarmed when The Bureau Underground is assigned a new captain, Merv Minette. Minette doesn't seem thrilled with his new post either, and halts Max and Leroy's investigation of the suspicious wire.

Leroy brings in a psychic to help The Bureau figure out who bugged their office. Although he and the rest of the team are determined to make something of the findings - in order to reclaim the office from Merv - Max refuses to give in to the superstitions.

When an article is published revealing The Bureau Underground to the public, Merv asks Leroy to interrogate his coworkers to find out who may have leaked the information. Meanwhile, Max's parents arrive at the Bureau to express their concern about his career choice, and Ava gets closer to solving the mystery of who bugged the office.

Leroy and Max spot a possible UFO. However, as they are looking at it, Leroy drops a big bomb on Max that steals the show. Meanwhile, Captain Lafrey digs deeper into the mystery suspect who has been targeting The Bureau Underground, and newcomer Merv is forced to confront some office drama.

The Bureau Underground struggles to be taken seriously while forced to share a case both with the FBI and the FAA. Disheartened by the lack of respect, the team turns to Merv who offers very little support. Meanwhile, an unlikely relationship forms and Max makes a shocking discovery.

While trying to prove their worth to Captain LaFrey and the rest of The Bureau Underground, Leroy and Max finally have a lead on the whereabouts of Agent Checker. Leroy finds himself in the odd position of being the believer when Max loses faith that they have what it takes.
