Discuss Young Sheldon

The trailer for this makes me think of The Wonder Years, with the voice over of the grown protagonist and life through his childhood perspective. This generation's The Wonder Years... could it work? And with this character? Maybe the trailer was a bit misleading and that's not representative of the show?

I wonder if it will also take place in Galveston, Sheldon's hometown. I know that people have said before online that when Sheldon returns to his hometown to visit his mother, it doesn't even appear as if they are actually in Galveston but somewhere in east Texas, but not an island city. I thought that too because I've been to Galveston a number of times and they don't mention the Gulf of Mexico, the ferry, the many tourists there, or University of Texas Medical Branch. Nothing that would be identifiable as being Galveston.

Well, The Wonder Years was almost 30 years ago. So maybe this is just another of the "reboots" that seem so popular lately. Well, not really popular for audiences so much, but VERY popular among the studio/production people.

That's exactly what I said when I first heard of it. That whole voiceover style is reminiscent of 80s sitcoms.

That and "Everybody Hates Chris"

Men are weak, they slap.

Women don't need protection: they punch.

Women are more likely to use a weapon. And they may not need protection from Sheldon, but they do need protection from Kurt. And Zack. And so many others.
