I also had mixed emotions after finishing this.

Some of your comments did highlight how predictable it was , but the other other ones were more about the ridiculous plot points (which I agree with). Although I would say I liked Berlin's exit...I didn't think that was predictable. I kept thinking right till he died that he'd be saved somehow.

What I was disappointed about was how Alison Parker became a minor character. I thought she'd have a bigger role as the story progressed, but it was the opposite.

And Arturo never got his comeuppance - the show should've been brave enough to have the police mistakenly kill him when he broke through into the sewer. But I guess they had already shown how the police were stupid and inept, particularly the inspector, who somehow kept missing the obvious.

Overall an enjoyable first half, as you said.

However, I want to share a detail regarding this particular scene. In the original Spanish airing on Antena 3 last year, Angel wakes up at the end of episode 14, that's the penultimate episode. You can watch a clip of this scene here:

This is right before the end credits of episode 14 roll -> and then, as an original viewer last year, you had to wait for 1 week until it goes on in the story with the last episode.

But, in the Netflix airing of this year, you could see that this scene was actually shot quite differently and put at another place within the story! I can't provide a link to a YouTube clip to show this, so I'm going to explain: If you watch the end of episode 7, season 2, of the Netflix airing, you see that Raquel sits next to Angel in the hospital. Then you see Raquel standing up, going over to the cupboard with Angel's clothes, she searches for his badge, then takes his badge, and then she leaves the room. But that's not all -> the same shot continues and the camera slowly swings over to Angel's face, and he wakes up from his coma! And that's the end of this episode on Netflix, with two more episodes following after that.

I was surprised about this difference, mostly because those 2 scenes (Raquel stealing the badge AND Angel waking up from his coma) were done in 1 continous shot. However, the editors of the Spanish version decided to cut the scene and put the pieces at 2 different places in episode 14 -> for very good reasons. Because Raquel uses the badge to find out about where The Professor is hiding, which takes quite some time within the narrative - and that doesn't work if Angel was waking up right after she left him in the hospital. When you watch the Netflix airing, you immediately have to ask yourself during episode 8, season 2: Why isn't Angel calling Raquel right away and waits such a long time?

What I want to say is: I think some of the mistakes and ridiculous plot points are the result of really bad editing (among other things). I have no knowledge how this project was planned before it aired, but it seems to me that they had big troubles to find a concise narrative because of the different airings. At least that's my impression looking at this scene and a few others ...

I honestly don't understand the hype around this show. The acting of many of the main cast is not very good right from the start, the story lacks so many things, most of the characters are so bland, and the way the police is shown is ridiculously unreal, especially Raquel. Perhaps one reason I don't understand the hype is that I don't speak/understand Spanish? I don't know; I can't explain it ...

I know this is two years old, but I'm confused. Which season or part are you referring to? Now, 2 years later, the series is in 4 parts with varying episode lengths, none of which have 15 episodes individually. Was the original just one series in 15 episodes?

Part 1 was made available on Netflix Spain on 1 July 2017, like other series belonging to Antena 3's parent media group Atresmedia. In December 2017, Netflix acquired the exclusive global streaming rights for the series. Netflix re-cut the series into 22 episodes of around 50 minutes length.
