Discuss Vanity Fair Confidential

When they were talking about how the minister at one of the victim's funeral preaching about how he brought it on himself because he was a homosexual, somebody should have told him he was to blame for preaching hatred and deserved to rot in hell along with the murderers.

Nothing good ever comes from preaching hate.

I wish I could catch this episode because I read comments from people that posted about it on Reddit. It sounds horrifying. I once knew this transsexual who was 6'3" and the size of a linebacker. She lived in Houston, but I knew her when she was in southwest Louisiana, and I too thought we were going to get killed because of hate and homophobia, but all people would do is stare a lot. Sometimes men would give her strange and dirty looks, but that was all. Not rude comments or threats like I thought would happen.

This was on the ID channel this morning. What was strange was they showed all these white preachers preaching hate and saying that was why so much hatred was towards homosexuals, except most of the killers were black. I'm pretty sure they weren't sitting around watching old white men like Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell to get their ideas. They never talked about the black Christian community promoting that type of hate.

What else is kind of strange is you don't hear too much of gay males getting killed like that anymore (which I'm sure it still happens), but mostly of transsexuals being murdered. Last night I was watching 'In the Grave: Grave Mysteries" about transgender Ty Underwood being murdered by the man she was dating in Tyler, Texas. Then the boyfriend used the old standby, "I swear I didn't know that was a dude. I was duped. Feel sorry for me cuz I was tricked by that evil trannie." Even though he knew Ty was a male-to-female all along.
